The Takshilians visited Darbhnaga, one of the historical cities of Bihar, on 6th December 2014. Darbhnaga is known for the palace of Darbhanga Maharaj, who was one of the richest Kings of India. He was known for his generosity. They visited Ahilya Asthan, Kusheshwar-asthan, Catholic Church, Masjid at Darbhanga Tower, Maharaja Laxmiswar Singh Museum to name a few.
The students, teachers and staff along with the Principal enjoyed the trip very much. They got an opportunity to visit several temples and other places of historical importance. They also visited the Fort and Palace of the King of Darbhanga. They were amazed to see the excellence and skill of architects of those times.
They also learned that after independence, the kingship was dissolved and the independent government opened a university named Lalit Narayan Mithila University in his Palace. To honour the King Kameshwar Singh and his knowledge of Sanskrit, another university is also running in the same Campus, which is known as Maharaj Kameshwar Singh Sanskrit University.
Observing the activity and discipline of the students, the National Adventure Foundation gave an opportunity to two of our students to do sky-gliding. Thus, Rashmi Rajesh and Naman Raj became the first Takshilians to fly high up in the sky.
On this trip our Principal Mrs.Shalini Kumari enlightened the students with the benefits of such excursions as they not only enhance knowledge but also give an insight into the learning, architecture and dedication of people of earlier times.
