‘Mother Chef’ Cooking Competition was held at Takshila school, Muzaffarpur on 13th December 2014.

The function was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp jointly by Dr. Mamta Rani (Principal, MDDM College Muzzafarpur), Dr. Birendra Kumar (Student Welfare officer BRABU), and Shalini Kumari (Principal, Takshila School Muzzafarpur). In her inaugural speech Dr. Mamta Rani appreciated the philosophy of E-DAC, as it encourages learning through discovering and reduces the burden on children.

Dr. Birendra Kumar Singh agreed that the overall development of the children is possible through the E-DAC Learning System.

The chief guest Mrs. Prachi Priya (Advocate), Wife of S.S.P Mr. Ranjeet Kr. Mishra , emphasized on the benefits of healthy and nutritious food for children. She encouraged children to avoid junk food.

Principal, Mrs. Shalini Kumari, addressing the function suggested that delicious food can be prepared without fuel. She also mentioned that holding such functions creates awareness about saving fuel, not only amongst the mothers but also amongst the children.

Nearly 102 mothers showed their cooking talents by making tasty and healthy snacks for their children. They prepared tempting dishes like Dahi-Bara, Gazer ka Halwa, Momo, Katori Chat, Litti Chokha, Manchurian, Zira-rice, Paneer-Chilla, Pasta, Khir, Gulab-jamun, Makke-Di-Roti, Sarso Da Sag & Rajma Chat etc.

The School Captain and Vice- captain also took part and demonstrated their culinary skills. Their recipes were healthy, nutritious and most importantly, they were cooked without using fuel.

In the first round, all participants presented their recipes before the panel of judges that consisted of Dr. Radha Sinha (supt. P.G. Hostel), Prof. Kamla Kumari (Warden P.G. Hostel BRABU), Dr. Puspa Kumari (Reader L.S. College) and Prof. Reeta Kumari (S.N.S.College Muz).

Of these Madhubala Kumari, Saumya, Pratibha, Anuradha Gupta, Alkama Khatoon, Sweta Jaiswal, Juli Chaudhary, Baby devi, and Vaishnavi Devi were selected for second round.

In the second round they were asked to prepare the recipe which had been demonstrated by our students.

Thus, Mother Chef Cooking Competition was a joyful experience for all.
