An effort towards protecting Mother Earth in Takshila :   Earth Day 2015

April 22, 2015 : In order to spread awareness amongst people, Takshila celebrated the Earth Day.

The day began with the special assembly at 8:00 am. Three students from the senior wing delivered motivational speeches in the gathering. They elaborated on the importance of exhausting the natural as well as man made resources wisely with the motto of having sustainable development of the earth and protecting the earth and environment from any further depletion. They also elaborated on the wise consumption of energy resources.

Further on, one of Takshila’s oldest parents Mr. Deepak Rastogi was invited as the Chief Guest for the special assembly. Mr. Rastogi further on added to the importance of the day.  Besides enlightening the students on the position of the Earth in the solar system, he explained the reason behind why earth has life on it. He continued with explaining the reason behind why nature has to be protected.

Shortly, after his speech the Principal Mr. N. K. Gautam motivated the students to put in their best efforts to keep their environment clean. He also spoke on the way to aving energy  in our day to day life.

Just after the assembly, the students of std 6 to 9 were taken for a rally from Ballia Block to  Chotti Ballia ( approximately 1 km). The students demonstrated a silent rally throughout the place using banners and posters. The rally ended at 12:00 noon.

The students of the junior wing participated in a drawing competition themed on the topic – Earth Day. Three drawings were awarded for two groups namely- Group A (Std 2& 3) and Group B (Std 4&5)  and were awarded  certificates for the same.
